Our Concrete Pool Construction Process

Inground Pool Builders follows a streamlined process to deliver quality concrete pool construction services. Our pool engineers are highly skilled and efficient in handling all the stages of your project.

Initial Consultation and Design

We start by arranging an online site assessment and consultation to understand your requirements, design preferences, and budget. We brainstorm ideas, discuss dimensions, and explore the best possible options to accentuate your pool.

Council Consent and Permits

Once the design is finalised, we will get council consent and the necessary permits for your concrete pool project. Our team has experience in navigating all the complicated processes and ensuring all legal requirements are met.

Excavation and Structural Work

We begin the excavation process with all the necessary permits and consents in place. Our experienced engineers use top-of-the-line equipment to dig out your pool & spa area and prepare it for structural work. We ensure the foundation is strong enough to provide a sturdy base for your concrete pool.

Concrete Pool Construction

We use only high-quality materials to construct your concrete pool, ensuring durability and longevity. Our team of skilled professionals pays close attention to every detail, from reinforcing steel to pouring and leveling the concrete. At this stage, we also add any additional features such as steps, ledges, or swim-outs.

Plumbing and Electrical Work

After the concrete has been set, we begin installing the plumbing and electrical work for your pool. This includes adding filtration systems, lighting, and any other necessary features. Our team ensures that all safety protocols are followed to provide a safe and functional pool.

Finishing Touches

The final step in our construction process is adding the finishing touches that make your concrete pool unique. This includes tiling, coping, and any additional features or accessories you may have requested. We also perform a thorough inspection to ensure everything is up to our high standards before officially handing over your dream pool.

Concrete Finishes We Offer

At Inground Pool Builders, we offer a variety of concrete finishes to add the perfect touch to your pool. This includes:

  • Diamond Bright: An exposed aggregate and very hard wearing product, 45 mpa which is imported from America.
  • Hydrazzo : 45 mpa marble plaster with a polished finish, also imported from America.
  • Glass bead: These come in a range of colours and are also set in a 45 mpa plaster.
  • Pebble Crete: Made of small stones mixed with cement and creates a durable and natural look.
  • Solid marble: This is known in the industry as solid marble but it is a marble chip mixed with white cement and a very cost effective way to create pure white pool.

Seasonal Maintenance Tips for Concrete Pools

Maintaining your concrete pool throughout the year ensures it remains in top condition and provides a safe, enjoyable swimming environment. The following are some vital seasonal upkeep advice:

Regular Cleaning

Keep your pool sparkling clean with a daily skim to remove surface debris and a weekly brush of the walls and floor to prevent algae growth. Vacuum the pool to keep it spotless and free from dirt and grime.

Chemical Balance

Ensure optimal water quality by testing the water chemistry at least twice weekly. Adjust pH, alkalinity, and calcium hardness levels to maintain a balanced and safe swimming environment. Proper chemical balance prevents algae growth, scaling, and equipment damage.

Inspect Equipment

Regularly check all pool equipment, including pumps, filters, and heaters. Make sure everything is in working order and perform routine maintenance as needed. Replace any worn-out parts promptly to avoid costly repairs.

Water Level Maintenance

Monitor the water level consistently and top up if necessary, especially during hot weather when evaporation rates are higher. Maintaining the correct water level ensures optimal filter and pump performance.

Cover the Pool

Use a pool cover when the pool is not in use, especially during off-seasons. A cover protects the pool from debris, reduces maintenance, and helps retain heat.

Winterizing

Properly winterize your pool to prevent freezing damage. Drain water from pipes, pumps, heaters, and filters. Use winter covers to keep debris out and check the cover periodically to ensure it is secure.

Leaf and Debris Removal

Especially during Autumn, remove leaves and debris regularly to prevent clogging the filtration system. Using a leaf net can help keep the pool clean.

Monitor Water Chemistry

Maintain a consistent chemical routine to keep the water safe and clean. Regular testing and adjusting of chemical levels prevent issues that can damage the pool surface and equipment.

Professional Inspections

Schedule regular professional inspections to identify and address any potential issues early. Professional maintenance can extend the lifespan of your pool and ensure it remains in excellent condition.

With over 35 years of experience, we specialise in custom-designed inground pools, quality pool renovations, and reliable maintenance services. Let us help you keep your polished concrete pool in pristine condition, ensuring it provides endless enjoyment for you and your family.
